Rough Fight work in progress!
It's coming along very slowly, but I think it looks pretty darn cool. I still have a few places to fix shots- the robot getting splattered and some other shots liek that as well as placement and positioning and backgrounds. But the exciting thing is that it looks pretty nice.

The big hump.
This is the shot that I've spent the most time on, mainly because I wasn't sure how I was going to pull it off. I had the original background image that I cleaned up, but I wanted the camera to reveal how big the Hypatia really is. After adding all the bunting and getting some needed advice from my friend Mark, I was able to come up with something I'm pretty proud of. I also really like the birds- they really give the scene some kinetics that make it feel more alive and not just a flat picture.

Well, it's been a while, but there's a lot of new stuff coming. Here's the finished monorail train, as well as it's station. In the context of the shot it's in, we'll never get this close, but if there is, at some point in time a webseries, well, this is where some of the action might take place.
This is essentially a reversed steam engine. I referenced the back end as the boiler and the front end as the cockpit, although I'm not sure a forwards view is even necessary.
From the other side. The notion is, the supports are on the left and the rail mounts are on the right.
I based the cars on pullman style coaches from the late 1800's. The first class and the second class are identical on the outside, but the inside is much more plush for the folks paying more. Not that I actually built that or anything.
This is all part of the Boston Horseless Transportation Company. Now, Some people have pointed out that the support arms for the trains should be bigger, and I agree. But, if I want to finish this shot I have to call it out as a CBB, or "Could be Better." If there's a need for this in upcoming episodes, well, I can always put em on.
The station is sort of a combination of a regular train station and a subway station. The "G" stands for Glowerston, a major stockholder of BHT.
The bunting is because it's the fourth of July. And the day the Hypatia sets sail.
I rigged the trains to stay on the rail, and these last two are renders with motion blur.

The Boston Commons. As a power supply station.
Yeah. I've been slogging on this shot for a while now. At last I'm ready to put a fork in it and call it finished. There are a number of additions I'd like to add, but the next shot is really big and I need to start focusing on that. Let me know what you think!

Boston Power Station!
Yeah, these shots are getting better and better. This one is the second establishing shot of a retrofuturistic power station situated in the Boston Commons. It's a work in progress for sure, but I think it shows a lot of promise.

The telegram scene a little furthur along...
So yeah, here's the same scene a little further along. I've added all the people and the robot and a scene at the end showing the clock to give the shot some perspective. Those robots are going to figure in to the plot a little heavier than originally planned, so stay tuned!

Here's the latest test!
Establishing the look of the loading dock (and the final distress for the old film look) is what this sequence is about. It's still in the air, but now I have a place to go to.

The loading dock- it's really long and looks pretty cool!
So yeah, I started in on the backgrounds for the long haul. This is one of the ones from the "telegram" scene and once it's populated with people, I think it will look pretty good.

The Adventures in Science trailer!
Joey wanted me to get this ready for the Great New England Steampunk Expo. I had four days to cobble something together, and the results, I think, speak for themselves. All the backgrounds are digital, and for this trailer I ended up using images from other shots. But looking at them, I believe they are all pretty convincing!

The aerobus!
I designed this blimp as sort of a public transportation air bus, for those ladies and gentlemen who don't wish to walk to the street to get a conveyance. I based the seats on the ones in a red car, which we got to ride out at the Orange Empire Railroad Museum. The props spin down (they have an elaborate gear system to be able to reverse quickly, while the main motor sits atop the cabin roof) and the passengers enter from the rear.

A couple of shots of the Hypatia for you!
I went in and retextured this beast, adding some spajadigits and what not. I also redid some of the maps and I am quite pleased with how the envelope turned out.
Here's the Hypatia coming towards camera. Like I said, overall I am pleased. I also like the new rigging, which makes it feel bigger.

The elevator!
I realized I'd never actually made this part of the loading dock. I need a shot of the doors opening up and Glowerston exiting, so I put this together. It is also going to be kind of important to all the shots where we are looking this direction.
I really like this one. Oh, that sign way in the back says "no spitting."

Aurora, the movie
Wow. Great production value, powerful acting... It's like A Steampunk Pirates of the Caribbean. You can actually watch the whole movie online, here. It's got it all... Pirates, airships, love and adventure.

It works!
This is the first mostly complete shot I've done. It's for the trailer and has a ton of awesome innuendo- it was a lot of fun to shoot, and even more fun to finish off.

Movie Posters!
Here they all are. I sure hope you like them! I would love to print these out into postcards. Now remember, the guys don't have all their facial hair and Kat didn't spend a lot of time on her hair, so this is just the costumes. But I think the digital set looks pretty decent and the integration works despite my limited four light setup (and the occasional power failure!)
Let me know what you think!

Here's a brief glimpse into the Steampunk Bizarre
I shot this video while I was at the show. I apologize that it's the same music as the other one, but for some reason the new music I put on, while not copywritten per se, was rejected and the soundtrack muted.
Oh well. This is really cool.
