The Hypatia Animation Test
Weird. I guess Google Video is no longer accepting video so now all these tests I do have to be copied over to youtube first.
This was a fast, throwaway test to see what this thing looks like in motion. There will be another one shortly, with motion blur and a more appropriate film look. I'm pretty satisfied with this, though- I think it looks heavy. It's flying a little fast and the props could certainly go faster, and it needs much more rigging, but yeah.
It's cool.
I'm hovering around seven minutes a frame for this, once I render in HD that will quadruple, I think.
Well, guys? What do you think?

I think it looks heavy if thats the goal here. I agree with all of your comments. When all the other elements are in its going to Rock. :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe even having the sun peek out as the ship passes. It has to be a delicate balance though not to get to modern with it.
Nice, looks heavy, could be heaver if you wanted. Is it moving in a straight line?, a small ark would break it up a bit, make it more organic.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that was the plan. (It is moving in a straight line) I just wanted to see it moving, though so I didn't spend too much time on it... Next time around it's going to be longer, with a bit of an arc to its path. There's also going to be more dangling ropes and such. I want to make it look really sweet.
